I am back coaching with my second annual ELITE CAMP coming in August. I had a blast running this camp last year with some amazing athletes with great skill and focus. This age group is my favourite to work with because I know how hungry I was at that age to get on the court and work. This summer will be even better than last with a detailed focus on the entire athlete to maximize potential to try reach the next level. We will focus on the mental side of the game, the recovery, of course the on court skills and play lots of other fun stuff planned over the four days.

ELITE FEMALE CAMP DETAILS BELOW:

Four-day camp

August 16-19th every morning from 9am-12pm

Located @ the Sport for Life Centre (145 Pacific Ave, Winnipeg)

Cost: 225$ per player

CAMP OVERVIEW:

The goal of this camp is to take the girls through what it is like to play at the D1 level, providing knowledge of how to excel both on and off the court to start them on the path to their goals to play post-secondary.

Players will learn the standard of play and conduct expected at a high level. This camp will be intense, but more so mentally than physically. Yes, lots of basketball will be practiced, but TAP tryouts also begin that weekend, so I want all players to be prepared and ready to crush it at those tryouts if they are attending!

Tuesday = Foundations – The building blocks that I feel have helped me the most at the next level. Excelling at the basics is super underrated. A lot of skills and individual work.

Wednesday = Movement – A lot of teaching and learning on how to move without the ball on offense. Moving on defense, both individually and as a team will also be covered. COMMUNICATION will be key in all areas, but especially with these principles. We are going to work hard but smart on day two.

Thursday = Competing – A lot of game-like situations and scenarios to test our in-game decision-making and abilities.

Friday = Mindset & Recovery – A focus on working the mental side of the game, as well as going over ways to take care of our bodies. This practice will be lighter and include some shooting to get ready as TAP tryouts begin Friday evening.

This camp will feature myself, and my sister Becky Potter as the main coaches, with a few surprise guests along the way.

A minimum of 9 hours will be on-court basketball work, with workshops, speakers, and other workouts making up the other 3 hours of camp for a total of 12 hours over four days.

THIS CAMP IS FOR YOU IF:

Have dreams of playing college, university, or D1 level

– Are a self-motivated athlete

– Eager to learn more both on and off the court to help your game

– Have a good Basketball IQ (able to understand and implement taught skills and concepts into drills & game play)

I have held multiple basketball camps in my hometown of Winnipeg, and now virtual camps as well. I’m looking forward to having annual summer camps every year when I am in the offseason of my basketball career.
